A taste of the Arctic
Keeping our ingredients as locally sourced as possible; it is important to us to make the most of what nature has to offer.
Due to the long winters and cold climate in the Arctic, it was common practice to preserve food, as people did not have access to fresh ingredients for half the year. Whilst this is no longer the case, we still like to use traditional methods in our kitchen; from smoking our fish and curing our meat to pickling our vegetables and making fruit jams.
During the summer months we are rewarded with endless daylight. Wild berries and mushrooms flourish, and salmon return to our local river, Lakselva.
Our homemade breakfast includes our special sourdough bread, homemade natural yoghurt and berry compote, and local cheese from the Finnmark region.
Our 3-course dinner menu is a celebration of nature’s flavours and ingredients from the arctic. Our dishes change by season; but typically you can expect to find such things as reindeer or king crab on the menu, as well as our “catch of the day.”
